Handmade scarf with Hematite and Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver Scarf is a classic model of GioieSelli’s Gemstone Necklaces Collection.

The model is extremely comfortable because it does not have a classical closure. Generally composed of 3 threads of Hematite, which on request can become 4 or 5, the Scarf embraces the neck to then close in the 925 Silver circle that creates the closure.

The Hematite is in very small 1.5 mm faceted spheres that make it extremely bright.

Hematite was known as “Blood Stone” in the Middle Ages, but it was already known in ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia for its color and its “sanguine” nature, and for its ability to stop bleeding and to treat various ailments. A highly sought after variety is the “Iron Rose”, a gorgeous, flower-shaped and iridescent crystal that is also found in Liguria and on the Island of Elba. Hematite is a mineral from which iron is often extracted.
